Claim classifier
A quick boundary check for carbon claims. It does not replace a literature review, but it shows which missing facts decide whether a sentence can mean removal, avoided emissions, displacement or something weaker.
Direct air capture: Removal candidate
The claim cannot be classified yet. Ask first where the CO2 came from and where the carbon ends up.
- Carbon fate
- Pulled from ambient air, then only becomes removal if stored durably.
- Failure mode
- The capture figure alone is not the removal figure.
Evidence to ask for
- Energy source and full lifecycle emissions
- Storage permanence and monitoring plan
- Whether quoted costs are measured operation or future projection
