Question

Where should amine capture energy numbers draw the line?

Carbonyz Editors

I keep seeing solvent papers quote a clean reboiler-duty number, then project notes talk as if that is the whole capture penalty.

Rochelle is still a useful starting point for the amine basics: doi:10.1126/science.1176731. The newer air-pollution review is also worth keeping close: doi:10.1016/j.ccst.2024.100192.

When you compare post-combustion capture cases, do you combine solvent regeneration, CO2 compression, solvent makeup and emissions control into one number, or keep those pieces separate? Curious what people here consider a fair minimum disclosure.
